I never claimed to be good at math, ever! This new common comunist core krap they are teaching kids I will never understand, SMH. However I confuggled myself tonight at the store because I dared to read the bottles. Isn't a 2 cycle ratio a set standard that increases in direct relationship to the accompanying mixer? Looked at the big 2 brands (S & H) oil and the same amount is in each per gallon of gas. Didn't matter if it was their standard or synthetic super mix oil. Grabbed another jug just out of pure curiosity and that is when I got myself confuggled. How is it if big 2 have x amount per gallon to get to a 50:1 ratio, that brand #3 said to use more oil per gallon to get to 50:1 ratio? Further more, if I wouldn't have looked and mixed with my usual rate with brand S but used brand #3 wouldn't this have leaned me out to the point of if used for a prolonged time damage would be likely? How much leaning of fuel mix before real damage begins to occur?

    50 to 1 is 50 to 1.
    2.56 oz per gallon.
    128 oz per gallon ÷ 2.56 = 50
    128÷50=2.56

I buy bigger bottles with the clear sight window and mix 4 oz of oil to a gallon of gas. 32:1. Math hurts my head, too.

I probably cornfuggled your brain more. Sorry

Yup, the big 2 S & H used the oil quantity you say for a 50:1 mix. This other brand #3 as I call it is saying its 1 gallon easy mix individual bottles are a 3.25 per gallon of gas. Wouldn't that roughly be a 40:1 mix?

And if brand #3 was mixed at S & H rate if you really do need to use more #3 to get the same effect, wouldn't that be roughly putting my mix at 60:1? I just went with my S oil like I have since the saw was new. Much easier on my simplistic knuckle dragging mind!

Possible oil 3 was designed for 40:1 and you missed it on the label

Went looking on the interweb... this company is trying to use a vise grip on a bolt head for a wrench, SMH. The mix given is good up to 50:1 however to use their 1 gallon easy mix bottles you for a 50:1 mix need to not put the whole bottle in and either throw away the remaining oil or save up 5 partials to equal a correct mix. SMH. Probably some over educated moron management goon playing with numbers and not taking into account for practical use. Some people on one site complaining about fouling issues until they figured it out.

Gotta watch the cheap oils. Look for a brand that carries the fc or fd rating

Yup. Just use good oil and stay away from the copies.

They should make the bottles of oul sized correctly for gallon incriments and say it on the bottle.

I usually dump excess oil in, I'm usually pretty close to 50:1.

A good oil shouldn't foul because of a 40:1 or 30:1. A good oil won't matter. It won't carbon up or gunk up either.

Lotsa two strokes run 80:1 or 100:1

Most chainsaws have piston damage not bearing damage.....air fuel problems not lube....
