Awesome. Thank you for your service! My wife is a newbie by those credentials. We/she are cleaning it daily and putting a non-stick gauze pad on it with bacitracin applied. I don’t wanna gross anyone out with the pics but I’m taking them daily. She says all that funky stuff too about the granulating etc. It’s kinda hard to wipe and clean in the open wound without pain meds. It doesn’t exactly tickle! I’m doin my best.

So I got some help today. My wonderful wife and son pitched in. We have more wood packed in than ever before. Total is 2.61 cord.

    That’s a small 3rd row in front.

And a full 2 rows at the steps. This should last a while. I typically burn between 5-6 cord per season. With such a wet summer, I guess my next step is to get my snow blower tuned up and ready. R and R is in my immediate future. Good feeling to be totally prepaired. Life is good!

Good plan, let the oil burner kick in just to confirm it works then feed the fire. Good luck with the road rash.

We finally had our first fire of the season to knock off the damp chill. Seems like someone else likes watching the fire as much as I do...;):tears::banana:

Decided to buy a mm to monitor those rounds that weren’t really dry enough. Picked a piece of hickory (about 6”) and split it.

And picked a few other splits from my seasoned stuff.
    Apple and maple.
