Well.... Got quite a bit done today. No hunting as my one bud is in Texas on business, son was mandated husband/father as today was his wifes birthday and Friday was their anniversary and brother in law is tagged out. Wifey is concerned about me hunting alone because my knee has been acting up and I tweeked it last week hunting and had some problems getting out of the woods. Knee has been swollen all week, so I didn't hunt and kept my knee support on all day today. Took sons family out to breakfast for daughter in laws b-day. Hit HD for some outdoor bulbs and motion light. Installed new bulbs in one outdoor fixture to find the switch was also bad. Installed new switches and all ok. Hooked up new motion light on other side of the house, all good. Got the Little Giant leaf blower fired up and fixed one of the wheels. Cleared some brush and weed wacked the woods side of the yard, than blew a bunch of leaves into the woods. Used the mower and cyclone rack to pick up more leaves. Pulled out the ac units and tucked them away down stairs. Then quick cleaned the E2. Oh yea also put a ton of Chows in the little garage, I had picked them up Friday night. Wifey made me tacos for dinner, got me some iced tea and life is good.

    Doggy

Anymore we use minimal pellets...just enough to start the two Whitfields and if the weather starts looking way cold we will stoke up some just for the Quad 1000.

The nut shells are way hotter than pellets and soooooooooo cheap at 1-1/2 cents per pound

    Equal to $30 per ton.

We have to haul the stuff home in the dumpster on the trailer, then transfer it to 55 gallon barrels.

Then each 5 gallon bucket we haul up to the stoves we shake the stuff through a screen bottom bucket to be sure there are no STICKS in the stuff.

STICKS WILL JAM AN AUGER....AND BREAK STUFF ASK ME HOW WE KNOW THIS

Yesterday morning it made it all the way to 44* at 10 am and then slowly dropped from there. Not that one would notice with the wind. At 5 pm it was 39. Low this morning was 26 but it has warmed up to a sunny, still, 35*.

flat out crazy busy all fall. I'm even out making deliveries....a lot of deliveries! in between trying to get loads in …. all the usual problems same as the other guys I suppose, scarce trucks, mills having issues, etc.

Working on the 18,000 square foot museum building as well on weekends before cold weather. foundation is in and we've screened about 250 yards of material to get to sub grade on the 12,000 sq foot inside section of the building. final grading for concrete floor is set for Saturday. 225 yards of concrete next week, my flatwork guy is bringing a laser machine. cool!

building contractor set to start around 11/1. then maybe I can relax a little

Well we got rid of a pile of junk this morning. We are now rid of an old snowblower, lawn mower, wheel barrow, the last of two chicken coops, and two piles of junk wood.

I think most of it is in a big scrap wood pile. It ain't a treasure, that is for sure. Filled up a high side dump truck it did.

Weather was a bit crazy here also PelletHound , some of the strongest lightning & thunder we've gotten all year rolled through this afternoon. It's October, right? Weird. *Nothing like you guys got down south though: glad everything's ok.

And on the evening news they are talking about a "potential" nor'easter heading in for Sunday. Now ain't that just the chits. I still have lawn furniture and fall bulbs to deal with.
