I don't have any auto. 2WD or 4WD with traction control, if that's what you are referring too when you say Auto.

Well, we believe in that as well. Buy local when you can.
    Right now no North Country..
A load came in today, another one on the way, tomorrow or Monday..
    neither has North Country.
Hopefully those can stay the same price.
Platinums, Doug Fir, LaCrete... got the word they are going up, very soon.
Price for your NC.. around 20 bags would be 5 bucks @... that is the ton price ($249)
Tell you what though...If you want to try something different... I'd try the LG Supers...
New 33# bag... beautiful packaging that you can see the product.
VERY little fines (dust)... they don't travel as much..
    Burn REALLY nice.. $4.75 @
Quality pellet! Selling a bunch of those...

I leave my Silverado in auto much of the time. With all the wet weather we had this summer, auto works well when I pull out quickly in the rain. When the rear wheels begin to spin the 4 wd is activated and I hook up and quickly blend with traffic.

My old truck had the switch (button actually). This one doesn't. It does have the condition selector (snow, mud, sand or normal). So I can force it. Also has a hill-decent helper and according to this article, this has been standard for the Explorer since 2011. Looks like it is an AWD system. Still, having performance Hwy tires on isn't optimum for winter conditions.

Hmm, wonder if I can find some used rims cheap so I can switch tires around. I hate to do that just because it is a PITA, plus I have to find room to store the set I'm not using, but they put new tires on it before I bought the truck, so don't want to get rid of a set that only has 5k miles on it!

Forgive me my mistake - must not have had enough coffee (or I'm getting old and forgetful). I certainly didn't mean to spell it out :hair:

Found pics on the interwebz to show the difference between old truck and new truck

Old truck had this button selector on the dash

Thats on your Colorado (Pretty sure thats what you have)? I'm surprised it doesnt have Auto where it kicks in 4WD when needed.

My Ridgeline is in Auto all the time. It can force 4wd nut only in 1st or 2nd gears and will come out at 15mph

Thanks for the update and pricing. Dave is bringing up 2 pallets for me sometime next week or the week after as he got an order for bio bricks next town over from me. I'm in no rush and I'm likely going with Crabbe at 249. Those do really well for me at a reasonable price.

That sounds like 4WD low to me. 4WD high can usually go up into highway speeds. At least that has been my experience with Toyota 4-runners, Nissan Xterra, Jeep Patriot and Ford Explorers. The only vehicle that had limitations for 4WD high was my 1987 4-runner and it said not to exceed 55 mph. Of course that was the one that I had to manually lock in the hubs, where the rest of them have been push button or a shift lever.

Thats what my honey did on her Avalanche until a tech told us that it really should be in 2wd unless conditions call for auto? It didnt make sense to me but he said leaving it in auto is somewhat like leaving the old manual locking front hubs locked all the time as the transfer case is engaged instead of free spinning?

Hmmmm. sorry to hear about the tinnitus... A real nuisance for sure.

New age is way cool stuff.

My other half got me interested in the C TO C AM late nigh talk back in the early 90's
We listen in every night from 10-2 and then the rewind from 2-5 (Usually get in on the opening bits and then fall asleep until midnight, then make a pit stop and catch another bit, and then maybe a pit stop around 4 and then by 5 its time to get up...

Hope that's because thats all you have.....otherwise I'd be saving those for the real cold in deep winter.

We were dressed like that last night at Eastern States sprint race @ Orange County. Fast time in first "group qual.", re-drew 6th for feature, finished 4th (too much gear in car).
