Pulling the pin to purchase a harvested woodlot. Won’t live to see another harvest in my life time but I’ve seen two of them since 1962. Mostly an Alder hardwood forest. Something to leave for the kids. As of now, will give me a place to spend some time now that I am retired and there are several decks of wood the chipper left behind which will be good for firewood at least for the next couple of years. Easy access within walking distance of home. Abuts state timber land and private timber with an absentee owner. Lots of elk and deer in the area. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
That's beautiful. I would think 40 acres of land in the Northwest ( or just about anywhere ) is a great inheritance for anybody. Someday when I retire I would love to have such an adult "playground"!
That sounds ideal! Nice access roads, and I imagine deer would like alder coppice. Plant a few apple trees and they'd like it even better.
It's close to your home and it sounds like you feel it's a fair price...go for it. I live on 44 acres and there are so many things I dream of doing, couldn't do it all if I live to be 150. I love the peace and tranquility. I am sure you will enjoy it all! Congratulations!!!!
Oh boy, that's nice, i'd love to do that, if it were mine, i'd be planting back a mix of tree's on it. Being from the PNW you know how fast tree's can grow, if the weathers right. After my Mom had her property logged my brother, he and i planted it back with all doug firs, you should see it now. This was 25 yrs ago, we had a 97% survival success on the small trees we planted. it looks fantastic now. Its been sold to some one who just lives there maybe 3 months out of the year. I almost hate to drive by and see the deer in the front yard, behind the locked gate, in among the dozen apple trees i planted in her circular driveway, i had my chance to buy it, and let it slip by. but, so be it.
