Cutting the white ash

    The deep snow is gone finally. It was an excellent day to run the saws.

    My partner uses an Echo CS-400 which cuts well.
    There was no time to put all the rounds in one spot due to rain.

    It looks like a quarter of the tree length ash got cut up today. I am sore and Tuckered out after only three hours work.

    Some looks like it's trying to split already
    Should make a nice stack of splits & great firewood

    It looks a lot like the stuff I got this winter, good wood to have.
    After spitting mine in March it felt weird to wheelbarrow it to
    my stacks for drying, it was nearly 1/3 less the weight of any other split
    wood.

    This is the first winter in several that I have had much ash and have a lot now for several winters. I really like the way it off gasses in my cat stove.....nice bright orange glow and hangs at about 1500 for quite awhile.
