Made some break in fires over the last couple nights with our new ideal steel.. tonight's is enough to throw a bit of heat, and it feels GREAT! I could get used to this indoor wood burning thing. First pic is night one, second night two, last two tonight. :)

    That's looking very good BigPapi.
It takes a lot of self discipline to keep those first burns small.

It surely did take some discipline! Ramped up a bit more today with a quarter load of 2" splits first thing in the morning, and again around lunch time. Engaged the cat for the first time - amazing how much heat this piece throws with a minimal wood load.

Got a cat probe in the mail today, but it's too big for the threaded hole up top by a hair's breadth. Guess I'll keep running off the stovetop dial until I decide to get a smaller probe or drill the hole a tiny bit to get a nice super tight fit.

I was running hardwood dimensional pallet wood yesterday, barely 1/4 loads. Let it get to temp, then locked it down and let it cruise. Did the same in the early afternoon, and the house was toasty despite being cold and raw out. The Woodstock stoves are fantastic!

I vote for reaming out that probe hole a bit over buying another.
