So my friend ordered an is from them on my recommendation and having read so many good things about them from here. Then he told me they cant deliver to his house and that Woodstock said they need to deliver to a loading dock? Is this everyone's same experience? I think its a bit ridiculous that they cant deliver it to someone's house.

Just wondering what everyone else dealt with.

That’s normal. They only deliver to freight terminals or they can deliver to a local business with a dock that is willing to accept it. I picked up my IS from a freight terminal

740lb curb weight - if the carrier brings it to his house... Then what? Too big and heavy to expect the carrier to offload with a handtruck. Terminal service is pretty normal with this size freight, imo. If he's going to have it installed by a stove or chimney outfit, it would make sense to deliver it there.I

One man's opinion! :) Best of luck to your friend, I'm breaking in my own new IS right now.. Happy so far - looking forward to seeing what it can do at -15*.

It comes on a semi. The driver has a pallet jack but no way to get it on the ground if he can even get a semi to the driveway.

My englander pellet grill was the same way.

They can deliver to a freight terminal who should be able to fork it into your truck.

I'm having mine delivered to my builder's warehouse. As I understand it, the stove needs to go where there's a fork lift.

I get that if your having a company install it should go there. We are self installing and have the means to get it off the truck.

My nc30 which weighs 600lbs or so was delivered to my driveway, pushed via handcart on a gravel driveway where i moved it inside the house. Just seems kind of weird to me to have to find a loading dock that is going to say yeah use my forklift to move an item you didnt get from me.

Ask about lift gate service if you have the means to handle it from there. Some delivery companies offer it at an added cost.

WS is a pretty flexible company. I bet once your friend convinces the post office to deliver it to the door they will be open to sending it that way.

Great- now I have a mental image of a Woodstock crate absolutely covered in postage stamps except for the 'FRAGILE' sticker in the middle.....

I couldn't get them to deliver to my house even with a forklift at my house. They were willing to make the sale if I used the hardware store as an address though. Does your friend know anybody with a little diy tractor?
I am so happy with my AS, that I want an IS to go in the garage, just don't want to the hastle of dealing with getting the stove. Around here, the Ltl service is owned by the unions. Hard to get them to do anything without whining, ecspecially in the winter.

    Good luck to your friend!

Shipment restrictions are on the freight company, not Woodstock.

You need to find either what is available for liftgate services in your area or if any of the local shops hire someone local that installs stoves and can also provide the liftgate service from a freight terminal.
Any chimney sweeps in your area that you might get lucky to chew the fat with and pick their brain regarding what's available for local services ? Everyplace is different.

We could have had it delivered to our house if we had means of unloading it. However, it is not up to Woodstock; it is up to the carrier. In our case, a friend owns a business in town and has a fork lift so I just had it delivered there and made sure I picked it up that same day; actually within the hour. Just gave him a little tip for accepting delivery and also for putting it onto my trailer.
