This is the original section. This houses the boiler, hot water storage tank, wood splitter, family's bikes, some of the wood tools, etc. It used to hold a lot more. But, I also added a large lean to on the back of the Garage to store the riding mower, lifted golf cart, tractor, saw horses, some raw materials (metal, vinyl, lumber, pipe, etc). The original shed I have been using for 10 years now, since I installed the boiler and tank. But I didn't like only having a couple of week's worth out of the weather.

See, she isn't fully finished yet... P1990972.JPG

The wood storage actually goes back into the original 16' x 24' shed a ways as well. Already stacked in here is a conservative 6 cords. I cheat myself on some of the stack height in the calculation by 6" to compensate for the way I terminate the ends. It is probably closer to 6.75 because some of the stacks get fairly tall towards the interior of the boiler end of the structure. P1990973.JPG

I actually finished stacking this wood inside back in March before I actually had tin on the trusses. That amount should be more than I will use this winter and winter 19-20 wood is cut/split in various piles around the property. I am hoping to make the push this winter to having 3 years on hand, but it may be a pipe dream. It has been a summer full of baseball and soccer, so the project list is gargantuan now.

I am digging that set up. Would love to build a shed to consolidate my wood hoard. Nice work.

It sounds that way. But, the meteorologists are never wrong on the tracks of these things. :deadhorse:

I do find it oddly memorizing that whenever there is an evacuation called that they invade said area with news crews and cameras. Thus, the opposite of evacuating...

Meh, most of them fake news media (and/or weather forecasters) need to send more of 'em in
    Oh, and nice shed setup!

Very nice Stlshrk ! It will serve you well no doubt. Did you serve on that sub in your avatar? Is it a boomer or a fast attack?

Cool. I lived in Virginia Beach for 15 years and got to know a lot of Navy people. When I was a kid my uncle was an officer on SSBN 657 Francis Scott Key. Later he was the weapons officer on the trident sub SSBN Alabama. ( the one the movie Crimson Tide was about. ) One of the best experiences of my life was when I was in 9th grade and got to go on my uncle's sub ( Francis Scott Key ) on a short cruise from Charleston to Cape Canaveral. The sub was the first to replace the Polaris Missiles with the Trident missiles. He had the late watch ( I think midnight to four ) and I was allowed up in the conning tower with him. For this short trip the sub did not submerge. It was a clear night and dolphins were jumping over the bow waves in the moonlight. I'll never forget it. I think it takes a special kind of person to serve on subs. Thanks for what you do and did!

That is a really cool memory to have with your Uncle! Thanks for sharing it.

I remember one time in particular, the dolphins doing something similar behind us in our wake as we pulled into Gibraltar. Definitely cool stuff!

I agree with your opinion on the sub force. But, I may not be exactly impartial in that thinking. LOL. :handshake:

    Thank you.
