Welcome Heatmonger! My great grandfather came from Wales to Indiana. Never met him. My uncle told me he was a real jerk.

Johnsereds are practically none-existent in my area. Have no idea why.

Here I am again, I don't see a way to pay the additional three dollars.........Its a bit like Stihl flippy fuel caps, they work ok for most, but what about those who are a bit different, or live elsewhere. You all sound like a great bunch to me.....thanks.

Well how about that !....My FHC window stickers arrived today, all the way from Algona. So it. works fine, no matter where you live ! I have not paid the additional three dollars either. So, around ten days, not bad at all.
If someone else paid , thanks for that. If not, I'm happy to pay, just cannot see how to.
    Thanks again.

Hello, I'm Bob and and just starting my first season burning wood. I installed a Progress Hybrid and new class A chimney in my house this summer and have lit it up only a few times. No ability scrounge my own wood so I'll be paying to have it delivered for the time being. The woodshed I built will hold 2.5 cords but we aren't in a super cold climate and probably wont be burning 24/7. My gas furnace is actually pretty cheap to run and wood is probably more expensive but nowhere near as fun.

    Welcome aboard Barnaclebob

    Nice to meet ya.
    :handshake:

That progress hybrid should treat you very well, and burning wood in that may not be as expensive as you might think.

(It is as fun and comforting as you think though)

If you're gonna purchase wood, I would suggest buying a moisture meter also, that way you can be sure your wood is appropriately dried.

Don't completely abandon hope of scrounge opportunities though, you might be very surprised at the opportunities that can arise.

Calimari is nice but I want to see the halibut that would eat that squid!

Barnaclebob the problem with driftwood is the salt content that will eat everything connected to your stove.
