I wonder what this portends for the retailing of previously owned stoves...?

The mfg all knew it was coming and ignored it , now they are crying the blues. yet some of the small outfits have already met or exceeded those 2020 rules. so the big boys are trying to pressure Epa to put off implementation of those because they failed to start RD 3 years ago preferring to line their pockets instead of investing in same.

    Which means they are grandfathered.
If new stoves have a significant price increase due to regulations then pre-owned stoves will be more in demand and increase in value.

...not so sure about that....what Ive heard is that a retailer will be prohibited from selling pre reg stoves completely

Its exactly what we wonder about.....a few things:
    1. Fully functionable display units.....do we have to sell what we have and buy new ones with "the label"?
    2. Can we bring units in "in trade", refurb them, and sell them? They wont have the 2020 label.
    3. Older, slow-moving stock? What happens if we still have product when the deadline happens? (we cant sell them?)
