Just need to send down a camera, 3 miles deep
Deeper than the Titanic

Multiple black box pings make them sure they are in the right place.

Amazing they found it right before the batts went dead,
(coincidence or did some secret spy device already know where it was ? )

US nuke sub found it, then waited until another sub got into the area to give them the credit - plausible deniability about our abilities.

 

I'm sure the reports on who did what and when and to who will be all over the place.
And even if they find the wreckage, what's the chances of recovering the boxes at that depth?

Gonna take some serious technology to get to them.
To be sending down the sonar mapping gizmo down soon.
Will know more about what's on the bottom in a few weeks.

Then some deep water ROV subs to take pictures.

It'll be a few months before any black boxes are examined, if ever.
