So it's a momentary "off" switch? I like that kind, although I can see why the legal team wouldn't like them.
I have a 421. I sent it to miller for porting... I'm running an 18 inch small gauge bar on it...it rips...funny in dry hard wood it rips teeth off those cheap little chains...
It should be a simple fix. It's all exposed. I'd guess it's built up with oil and sawdust and not making connection when you switch it to OFF
My buddy ran his stihl 460 magnum until he ran out of gas on Sunday. Then he ran my stock 6421 dolkita. We run the same Carlton 20" 3/8 chisel chain. My chain wasn't even as sharp as his because I cut a bunch of mail up on the spring, and he said my saw cuts faster. It's definitely louder, even with the cat still in the muffler.
Lol, I'm not using my chainsaw to cut up my "mail", that was to be "maple". Plus he said the dolkita is lighter than his 460.
Yep, I have some Dolmars. I think they're a great value, especially when I'm cutting with a guy who has never heard of them, and is running one of the "well known brands".
I have a Dolmar 5105 and no trouble with the on off switch but it has a bad ignition module that I am still waiting for so it can be repaired. It has been a great saw.
