I'm just gonna use 4x4s or 4x6s. Planning to make it 16x8 and stack it 8' tall. Should be right about 2 years worth. Then I can put a cord of shoulder wood elsewhere.
I like that idea! I was thinking of putting nutserts into the side of my shed so I could bolt metal roofing on the side that will be in use, then I could move it to the other side the next year.
That sounds good, I can hold up to 7 cords in there, and I also have some other small sheds I made from pallets that hold about 3 cords
Sorry to hear about your FIL but really good to see you coming back to post again. How's your family doing? Hope things will go smoother now. Shed should work out well. I'll soon be moving some wood into our barn. I had been doing that but last year I could not put as much as I'd liked into the barn because we bought a new tractor and it takes a bit of room. This week a new barn will be going up so I'll have that space again for wood in the barn.
I have a rubbermaid shed that is my current woodshed. It holds a little over 2 cords. I'd like to be able to shove my mower in that though.

We're still kicking although not too high. I do hope you can find enough dead wood to heat this winter. Sure wish you were on the 3 year plan, but you'll get it done. Must be a bit more difficult with the wood in your area. I'd let you have some of our wood but don't think it would be worth the hauling price!

We had some kind of midges this year. We were extremely dry, so (almost) no mosquitoes, but those other bugs would be in your face the minute you walked out the door.
