I’ve got a buddy that is having some land logged, so I get dibs on the tops. Well I was planning on driving out there with my truck. Now he’s said it’s pretty nasty out there and to try and get something light to use. I was thinking about using my inlaws Kawasaki mule and a trailer but just wondering what you all use. I’d typically like to get a 5x8 a frame trailer but just need some ideas.
That tractor in your avatar pic & a 5 or 6 X 8' trailer would be my choice. I use a Farmall M with a skidding winch to pull stuff to a landing then cut & load from there.
What amateur cutter said, unless it's to far to drive the tractor. A little 4×6 or 5×8 trailer would be nice. If it's to rough and nasty, just load the back of the mule and haul it.
Here are our hauling tools of choice. We use either the atv or tractor pulling either the atv trailer or dray (for pulling logs).
If he said light to use, I'm guessing he means mud. A mule and trailer is probably right on track. If you have to trailer the wood on the road somewhere else, it could be a good idea to save a load unload load....a 5x8 will work, but my only thought is ground clearance sucks on most road legal trailers. But unhooking the trailer only would save a bunch of work.
My Buddy Kevvy, huskihl gave me that. She needed a little lovins but is one of my favorites. Some saws just need nothing and cut amazing. This is one of them.
I got it years ago at Cabelas. I believe it was made by Yutraks. I found this link by googling ATV trailer: Google Express I believe they've changed the models that Cabela sells as they are made much higher off the ground. That is good for clearance but I like the low one as it is much easier to load.
For a woods only trailer as long as their sturdy I do t care too much about ground clearance. They’ll either roll or drag
