My nephew just switched to a gas insert and told me I could have all the wood he has. Brought home this load of seasoned cherry this past Saturday. Probably 2 more loads like this of the cherry and 1-1/2 to 2 loads of ash that has been split and stacked for 4 years.

Got behind this feller last weekend, I was quite impressed. Once I got behind him I made sure to stay behind him to give him some space. 20180923_121940.jpg

Then then split up a little more today, cherry in the front and red oak in the back.

Posted this over in the BS'n thread yesterday...figured I better put one up here too.
Went to the city dump yesterday, rescued about a dozen heaping trailer loads of BTUs from the imminent danger of being run through their grinder this coming week...relocated them to our "BTU preserve" where they will live out the rest of their days basking in the sun until they fulfill their life's purpose... ;) :fire:
The dozen dump trailer loads went to feed dads Central boiler...the 1 load in the blue F250 is my "finders fee" :D

My truck doesn’t get loaded much since I picked up the trailer. The first pic is crappy but it is a rear view shot. I am headed to the dump with junk.

On the way back I picked up stone for dads driveway. This load was 7.5k and last week was 9k. They tend to go over the requested amount.

The dump trailer has been fantastic.

Here is a semi loaded pic, where I was moving wood that I split this summer out of my drive to stack in one of my sheds for future use. 20181006_101418.jpg

I could use a trailer like that AND the load of stone.

I was shocked at how cheap stone is. I realize how much I over paid in the past. 16k pounds total only cost me $90. The quarry is about 7-8 miles from my house. It’s a good deal.

Trucking costs are high though. Just what it costs though. In my area it is around $500 give or take to get rock hauled 20 miles to a logging job. Of course you get 19 tons or so delivered.

Not so cheap for me, I pick up 2 ton+ for about 80.00.

The last gravel I bought was a couple years ago...for around the trees instead of mulch...was $14/ton picked up IIRC

This is more what I think is the cost. I was thinking a whole dump truck load was $200 to 300 MAX cost for the rock the rest is trucking
