I've still got 2+ cords of pine in VT I'm working on. Great kindling! And when I'm around to tend the stove, I keep it well fed with pine. I imagine burning pine is similar to running an old locomotive...you're always loading that firebox. This will actually be our third burning season with burning mostly pine.

I picked through the wood so I wouldn’t get mixed loads. I think the homeowner is concerned that I’ll take all the hardwood and leave the pile of pine. I said I’d take it all and that’s what I plan to do.

Sorry I just found your pic. Those are very nice wedges. They look almost brand new. They should serve you well.

I have to confess, they really aren't left-handed wedges.

893976E9-8A39-4D60-B1B5-DA3E7B73901D.jpeg Load 2 the pine has made its way to my house. Funny the guy that called me about the wood said that there was just a couple pine logs. Him being an outdoorsman I figured he would know what a pine log looks like. Not the case more to come

It’s the time in the fall and at the end of the burn season that you only need a little heat not the stove on full blast

Yep, spring and fall when you don’t need to keep the stove going 24/7 but you need a little heat usually evenings and/or mornings. I ran the stove yesterday and had half the windows open. That’s shoulder season around here. 80 is my limit.
