I was thinking more like Homer in The Shinning. But. Whatever.

Day 3 on the sofa with the flu. Yuck.

I was supposed to be out cutting today with friends but there was no way. When I get the flu, I get stiff, weak as a kitten, and basically, I turn into a useless lump. The fever broke earlier tonight around 8pm or so and the stiffness seems to have backed off for the most part. I've arranged to head out with the boys on Tuesday to drop a few spruce and turn them into next years heat. Everything is ready to go, so I'll just spend tomorrow resting. I can still work Tuesday if I'm only hacking and coughing, and I think some and fresh air and exercise would be the best thing for me by then.

Pseudoephedrine has gotten me through some times when I was sick, but had to function.

139 loads in 2 days so far. No time for pictures............. It's basically a constant movement operation with only 2 trucks traveling varying distances from each field to the silage bunker.

Just bustin your chops...I am actually very familiar with what you are doing...the neighbor has 2 HUGE bunker silos (milks 3000 cows) and they farm most of the land in the area...when they decide to fill silo you know it!
Another neighbor has a custom farming operation and they do most of the field work for the first neighbor. They have two forage harvesters and at least a dozen trucks with forage beds and on/off road tires. The farm across the road from me is 300 acres and about 2/3 to 3/4 corn...when they tear into that it is completely gone in half a day or so!

Dad's girlfriends dad has one clean chevy.......desperately needs someone that actually knows what they're doing to give her a tune up though.

But on another note, looks like grandfather won't make it up this year due to kidney stones :(

The ornery one is out picking raspberries as I sit here and type. We'll have berries until a hard freeze.

Chaz those apples would still make great cider!

Neighbor and I made a few gallons of cider today. Not as much as we usually make but a couple gallons apiece. Seemed good to be making it again but it is work. I could do no more at the end because we did not raise the tubs with the apples so I had to continually bend to get a handful of apples. My back is shot now. Have heat on it and pain killer in stomach. Well, some cider in stomach too. Sorry, no pictures. But you know what it is like to make cider.

Okay, here is an older picture. Today would have looked the same.

    :hair:

I always make the effort to bring the work to me. Bending repetitively is a no go for my back Dennis, so I can only imagine how it treats you.

Normally when my back starts hurting, it goes on for weeks. Mine started mid July, has been going on for a very long time. New exercise in the pool seems to be helping. I don't take meds even when on screech. No opioids and not suppose to take any NSAIDS. I will admit to taking one Motrin when the pain was most severe. Not more than one in any one day. NSAIDS are bad for my kidneys

I hear you Larry. I've been fighting with the back problems since 1984. Had some problems with it before that but when I made that one bad decision to jump, I've paid dearly for it every since.

It’s been drier than a cockspout here for the past month and half. Big storms moving in from the south and the wind is getting it.

Not worried I finally bought a generator a month ago and finished wiring my 230v 30a disconnect last week complete with manual interlock:thumbs:
