BC341E2E-8F41-4080-B59A-4F09C1557AC5.jpeg I have a Forester chain grinder that I was using this morning. The handle on the vise that holds the chain does not want to stay looked. Does anyone have one that has that issue? What did you do the adjust it?

Why is your chain in there backwards ? Could that be part of the problem?

I just put in in there for the picture and to see if I could figure out why it was not locking. I sharpened a chain this morning and that's when I found out it was not holding. I had to keep it in position with my hand.

They're a pretty simple cam lock. What does it do when it comes unlocked ? Does it pop off completely or does it slowly work it's way loose ? Is the back side of the cam worn ? Is the side of the vice that the cam actuates against worn ? Is there something in the vise that's holding it open ? Need more information. :)

There is a adjustment on the back side and sometimes it does come loose. I have had to adjust mine before.

I looked at it yesterday and saw there is a snap ring that holds the handle on the stud. I took that off and removed the handle, that let me get to the nut for the stud. I was able to tighten it just a little but that’s all that it needed. Once I put the handle back on it works good again. Thanks!
