Sitting with some coffee, getting yelled at by chickadees and goldfinches because the bird feeder is empty, and watching the maple rain leaves in a calm breeze.

    Hillsides are getting color.

Won't be too much longer hoarders.

I was also relieved to hear that the hurricane isn't causing much problems out in Colorado.

The Weather Channel quote of the day.... “This Live Oak has bent down/over and is laying on the roof joint”:loco: :hair:

The massive branch was neither “bent” nor on the roof “joint”..... it broke off a giant oak and crushed a portion of the ridge...
    Sorry...I found it humorous....

That's ok, I heard one the other day that was just as wonky.

"The weather forecasters are predicting that Florence will be a very unpredictable storm."

Caffeine in and some chores taken care of this morning. Family is almost all in the car and we are off for the day together. Time to take a break from working and go see a Vintage and Antique Car Show. I’ll treat them all to lunch and let them walk through a few shops as well.

Sad story. Amazing when you see that chunk of chimney flew a few feet away to where it landed.

There was a lot of good stories of neighbors helping each other out during the gas leaks. I watched one of an off-duty firefighter that learned of the early explosions and ran house to house with a pipe wrench shutting off gas meters outside as many neighbors houses as he could. He may have saved lives and property by his actions.

There are food drives taking place and the local MSPCA animal shelter is getting donations to home pets not allowed in shelters.

Well, Kansas did used to sit at the bottom of an ocean, so it isn't that far-fetched. Probably not in our lifetime though.

17! Now that is a surprise to me. Seems he was a little kid not too long ago. They grow way too fast. Is he driving yet? That part of kids growing was the hardest part for me. Everytime my back was turned they were doing things no way I approved of. My auto insurance was sky high. The car repairs were off the wall. The girls were no way near the challenge as the boys were.

1.2 Billion years ago! At least that's what my buddy Tim said who works at the USGS. :p Oklahoma had Glaciers in it 15,000 years ago also. My old Dodge didn't melt them either. Yeah, we'll all be dust before I'll worry. ;)
And real global warming is caused by cow farts too!!! :D

The first global warming was caused by dinosaur farts - they were so bad they caused themselves to go extinct
