Amen and a Big X2 on that.

From what I have been hearing, there's likely to be a lot of inland flooding.

Head for the high ground folks.

The Weather Channel said rain will be measured in feet, not inches. Also, up to 40 inches of rain is highly possible in a number of places.

    ...be safe folks.

My SIL and husband, live in Southport, on Cape Fear. They headed way inland today, for a weekend wedding in Cleveland. They're hoping they have a home to return to .

She mentioned that convoys of tree/ utility bucket trucks heading the other direction.

God bless all peoples in harm's way.

I have family in Raleigh so my aunt and uncle went to their daughters house who is also in the Raleigh area.

When I talked with my aunt she had a call from her brother to travel to Florida but decided to stay with her family.

One bright spot if you can call it that is that In the US with the fairly high building standards and everyone owning a car it's likely the death toll will be low.
In the most of the rest of the world this would kill thousands.
Be thankful what country you live in and I hope everyone gets out of this with minimal damage.

Praying for all those that live in the storm path. My wife and I arrived in North Myrtle on Sat.
and evacuated Mon. evening. We moved inland and have spent a few days in NC. Leaving Mt Airy (Mayberry) in the morning for home.

Just heard it was downgraded to a Cat. 2. That is good news but the rain that is forecast is a whopper. No doubt there will be even heavy amounts way far inland.

I'm hoping everyone in the Raleigh Durham area stays relatively dry and out of flood waters. My daughter just moved down there a month ago and she is not happy at the moment.

Hoping the peeps that should and can evacuate do.
Looks like this one might be a wet one with a lot of flooding if it goes the way they think it might.

I've had to evacuate and been glad we did.

I am right in the path but 200 miles inland. Right now we are looking at 30-40 mph winds and 8-10 inches of rain. I have been preparing since Monday, we have a generator, gas stock piled, food stock piled. Hopefully it looses more steam before it gets to us.

The last of her blew through this afternoon. Thankfully, we didn't get much, maybe and inch over the last 2 days. Here's a picture out my office window with the last of Florence in the upper right and the gorgeous high pressure system blowing in from the lower left. 20180918_124734.jpg

Front coming thru with heavy rain and thunder and lightning just now at 2:45
Looks to be the tail end and might not last very long as the bulk went north of us.
There were no weather warnings for here like there was or the rest of the state until these thunder storms popped up.
Phone buzzed with the weather warning a while ago. Haven't heard that in a long time.

Until a few minutes ago we had no measurable rain all day.
