Lots of lightning. Heard a loud thunderclap and then an explosion. Lights went out. Lots of flashy lights now.

I think I need to get serious this autumn with a generator and a lockout bar on my main panel. Champion has a nice inverter range I’ve been eyeing but never moved beyond the research phase on.

Really?!? That would explain the run on the more expensive HeartLand Pellets that burn better for us this year.

got hit with the thunderstorm around noon. Rained so hard, I sat in my car on the side of the road. then it started to hail. After the storm, still too warm and humid. I'll be glad went that cold front moves on in. Went to the VA to use the pool. The men's changing room had two inches of standing water on the floor. The rain poured through the suspended ceiling just as bad as it was raining outside. We couldn't go into the pool until the thunderstorm had passed by.

Had a vacation day scheduled for today, and actually got to take it. I'm still putzing around with the stove move (basement stove), but I am a little closer. Got the base, backer board and tile laid. Still have to grout, but gotta wait for that. Yes, the tile layout looks funky because I used the side of a wood box that I had saved from the rubbish bin at work (for no reason at the time). So, the dimensions were weird and I had no idea what I was doing when I picked up tile (twice no less ). Obviously this is my first attempt at laying tile, and my tile cutting leaves something to be desired, but once it is done it will do the job.

Tile laid - I probably should have thought about that left edge a little more and just cut some more tiles to make it more like that bottom edge - oh well.

The tile cutter I bought since I just knew that nothing would fit right. Works okay - wet saw would have been much better, but not getting one of those for $45

I will have to work on my den to get it ready for my winter hibernation. About 20 4' by 8' by 2" foam sheets should do it.

JT's boat may get ice locked while he is trying to get the line wet.

    Looks fine...
I have done a fair bit of tile, and have seen a lot of "pro" work in various places...and quite frankly, some of the pro stuff sucks.

Tile can be fudged and nerfed around to make it look fine.
Few people take the time to study things like the "Grout line" width and worry about it.

Tile is not an exact science for sure.
A wet saw is a real plus for sure, but $$$$ spendy.

I bought a top notch used one off craig's list for $100 a while back.

My kids did their kitchen counter and a other stuff using it.

The score and snap cutters are not as easy to get small pieces to cooperate though.

    Good job B

You gonna trim the edge of the pad ???

Looks like the Big Box prices are staying the same as the last few years .
