Install your own Anti Virus software, they stopped support for Windows XP, I hope this is correct.

Download and install the free version, click carefully--they make most of their money by making the free version a little tricky to find and the pay version right out in the open.

 

Search for free AV software. Avast is pretty not bad too.

 

I've had issues with Avast pretending nothing is wrong... Norton used to do the same thing.

 

Loon I looked at getting windows 7 in order for it to run on my older desk top ,I would need more memory a new hard drive new video card . The long and short of it prolly cheaper to buy a new machine and that's what I'm gonna do. Here's a link you might find helpful.
