Hello guys and I have to admit I have been here a while and have learned a bunch also.I have now made 2 sets of racks for the fire wood so I do not have to touch it more than once till is time to bring in the house.I also know how much we all like pictures so I have a few for you. Both batches of racks are the same size so once empty or full 002.JPG they will double stack, mix &match

Feels good, huh Rob? Talk about the perfect cover. Good air flow too. Make good use of what you have.:salute: long as nothing falls, your ready! Did you stain those racks? Looks like it on my tablet.

Looks like you have a good way of moving those racks around too.

Not sure my tractor could lift those. Can't do much over 1000 lbs with front lift. Have thought about getting forks for the 3pt but haven't yet.

I have but I have 3 tractors with front end loaders on them. The biggest is rated to lift 4000 lbs to the top and the other 2 around 2000 to the top.I just at the moment use my bale spikes but am looking to get a set of forks for the big one next month

I highly doubt that you would be disappointed by getting the forks. They really do come in handy.

Thank you for that shout out Eric.
I actually have more trees than I could ever cut down but they are mainly Poplar.I at times will just drive alone one of the fields edges and cut them down pick up entire tree with tractor swing it and start removing limbs, once done toss entire tree onto hay wagon the repeat till full before heading home where I repeat with tractor and chain saw into pieces.I started buying slab wood since that is even easier and it is mainly Ash or Maple and as I have said I do not want to touch the wood more than once before bring in to the stove.I even plan to haul entire rack into my new house and put it into garage door then use pallet jack to relocate it in there.

Just loaded a couple of my new racks with what I consider pallet wood(5'x10' pallets which had sheet steel on them)it sure felt strange cutting up oak boards but I know I will enjoy the heat in a couple years. It sure is nice to only have to touch it once by hand and now if is in my way the tractor will do the lifting & relocation.
