Today the Daughter and I, "mostly her" started the wood shift today and restocking the wood shed for the winter, I did the two week rack with the uglies for the shoulder season then started on the shed. *Notice* in some of the pics that the wood is just starting to get a bit punky on the ends. That is my 5 year old oak and the bark is just falling off. I just can't keep anything more than 5 years. I gotta burn 4+ cord this year to get rid of it. I have another pile thats 4 years old now so that'll be 2019's winter. I'm not expecting to get it all done today, it's in the low 80's but I like to have it done and ready by end of Sept. What's your time frame for moving north?

After all, you were talking so highly of the state you're in, at Brian's gtg.

I'm still about 6 weeks away before moving any firewood around ahead of the heating season.

About 50/50. The plants did "OK", a lot of the tomatoes turned bad on the vine, we started pulling them when they were green and letting them ripe in the house. Chrissy did lots of sauce and hoping to get about another 6 to 8 qt's more said and done.

Lets put it this way, "Money"$$$ has everything to do with that. "I" would like to start building up there in 2020 sometime. A lot depends on the economy, selling this place, my Daughters plan on either taking this place or her moving on. So, the variables are out there. "Realistically" I'm 56 now, I'd like to be completely in New Hampshire before I'm 60. My goal is shoot hard for us in 2020 or 21.

    Dave, Dave here.
I managed to get the shed full of this winter's wood a while back, but I still need to fill the other 1/2 of the shed for next winter. I also split up a bunch of Ash for kindling and plan to do some more of that. I'll probably be having small fires in about a month too.
Nice to have a helper, eh?

Good for you to get it done Dave but here, we'll wait for cooler weather for sure. And today it is not cooler. It is awful out there with high dewpoint and humidity after we got 2.5" of rain overnight. It is like a sauna here...

I actually left the AC on overnight, and almost turned it off for a while this morning, but when I took the dogs out that changed my mind.
The air will probably continue to run through tomorrow, then Wednesday the temp is supposed to drop 20 degrees. Nice.
Quite a bit of continuing rain, which we can always use. I'll just run between the drops to get out to the shop. Wouldn't want to melt on the way out there.:rofl:

Did you all notice that WeldrDave had his daughter out there working with the wood during the heat and high humidity he was having and then complaining about it?:stacker::stacker::stacker::cheers::beerbbq: She did a good job.

Enjoy that sea breeze. It hit 93 inland today with virtually no wind at all.
