Our state legislature sued and got legislation passed a few weeks ago for a 15% rate reduction for our power the rest of this year starting on the august bill and had to retroactively pay us back till april. It all was credited on the August bill. I got $40 off my august bill making it right under $200 and I got $140 credit from April through July.

If any of you are not paying attention they been charging us for this nuke plant they just abandoned last year when Westinghouse declared bankruptcy and also the project was behind and over budget, but they already paid like 2 billion dollars toward it and our rates are supposed to pay for it for like the next 20 years. It was all a scam job I think.

That'd probably drive most folks to get their own well haha. Grandfather on the other hand, hates spending any kind of money in that manner cause he seems to think he's gonna die soon (and been saying as much for at least 50 years, being in great shape for his age to this day). Should have heard him when the fridge I grew up with gave out and had go be replaced. (Positive Side note, my other grandfather is feeling much better now with the heart Stent replaced)

I see your point though. Building new, I'd definitely go own well. (I believe some of our unincorporated areas don't have an option of a community water system whatsoever) I guess it is what it is. One thing about it is grandmother prefers drinking bottled water and so keeps it in hand at all times anyway.

That said, while I agree with you in principle, when no leaks are apparent, one still has to wonder if the problem is related to the well itself or the system. I know they drilled deeper a while back.

It's going up to 12 bucks next year, hopefully the water goes at least 1/5 less often

Even at $20 a month it would be a long time till break even on a new well, unless your water is like 30 ft down? What's the point to have municipal water if it's always going out? So do you have to have like a 150 gallon tank in your truck that you haul water to the house? I know you can fill toilets with a bucket but how do you bathe when it's out. Fill tub with bucket and he a few pots till boiling and then dump in?

That calls for "gun-totin" welcome wagon mode. Scary Chit. If they try that here, they may come in vertical but I guarantee a horizontal exit.....................

It's a higher cost, bust assuming the issue is not simple groundwater overload, it's probably a more reliable option. Far as showers, I just nearly always avoid showering at home anyway and shower at mom's when I go to town. Avoids confrontation with grandfather. Even so, its Usually it's not gone long enough to be unbearable to wait till it comes back. We always seem to make do with collecting rainwater right by the door, and buying drinking water.

I quit my towing job here in illinois about 2 weeks ago.
Things got rough, i pretty much started speaking the truth and the owner didnt like that, nor did his significant other.

    I quit.

Went back to the shop i was at before i starter towing.
Doing trailer hitches, aftermarket car and truck accessories, spray in and drop in bedliners and what not.
Its just 2-3 people in the whole place. 1 salesmen whos been there like 19 years, the owners son who is
the manager and who also is the installer. Third person being me.
I quit my job on a wednesday, showed up at the shop the following monday after i had some time to myself.
The son was thrilled to see me. lol He says " I'll take whatever help i can get from you, i miss you like crazy man"
So i helped him the rest of that day pretty much and have been there as much as possible since.

Well this past weekend i passed both of my driving exams for Indiana.
So i officially have an indiana drivers license with my endorsement i needed in order to start my new job.
Calling the new place first thing in the morning to let the guy know that im legal.
Well, i have 1 thing left to do, i need to get my indiana medical card which im sure is scheduled at a set
place through the employer. So i'll clear that up in the morning.

Things are getting closer to coming into place..
Not much left here in illinois to move.
Couple furniture pieces, clothes and just stuff we use everyday to live.

Cant wait to meet our baby boy! We are 36 weeks and 1 day today!
    Due September 22nd.

Hope yall have a fantastic week!

Crazy weather here. We're all ok though.
    Screenshot_2018-08-26-18-40-21.png

I was all set with flashlights and candles. We had a flicker from the power but that's it. There was a possible tornado literally where we just drove though on our way from the day on the lake.

Scary stuff. Crazy winds, but no trees down, or even branches. So far as I can tell. My basil plant may have taken a bad beating though. I just repotted it.

Got my new boiler delivered today and some install work done. About another 3 or 4 evenings and that job should be 100% done. Trying to get it done before vacation in 2 weeks.

Helped set posts and girts on my BILs garage. I didn't think it was possible to sweat that much. The humidity was unreal today.

Meth heads. And not professionals. Or they thought door may be alarmed and less chance for a window? We're the Tennant's home? That's how thugs get shot!!
