We broke the rain record here in NH for the month of August, the old record was 1892. Two years ago our well and many others went dry, that was much worse. We have had a lot of 90's and humidity this year. I can't take that kind of heat for long durations. It was in the 70's today, and it's 54 here now. I'm loving it.

I'm seeing some swamp maples starting to turn. These nights in the 50's make me think about closing the pool, but we'll be back in the 90's early next week. That cold water will feel good!

I was up to camp Tuesday and Wednesday close to Well Seasoned place and saw quite a few trees turning. Not just swamp Maples, but trees along the road. It's coming.........

The 10-day shows a bit of a drop-off... I hope fall comes in a hurry, and lingers into November.

Sort of, Troy took his driving test out of Twin and went up that way. He got his license, Kimmy who works at Fosters Crossroads had a tree land on her house.

As some of you know, I started a pizza oven/fireplace project last summer with high anticipation that it'd be done this summer
Well, the constant rain made sure that didn't happen.....

I do have the footer done and foundation down, I'm praying for a dryer fall so I can get the fireplace firebox, flue, and hearth/oven pad done before winter sets in. Wish me luck. And don't even mention tree work, I'm backed up to the gills......

    Worst summer EVER.

It's so variable in this state. I know North Central Wisconsin has been getting a lot of rain. Down here in SE Wisconsin, there's places like us that have had some rain, but we are not dry and crispy ( although inland lake levels have been down 6-8). Other places in south central Wisconsin around Madison and Watertown ( go figure) have had record flooding and rain.

That happens every year in MI and some areas tend to start even in late July! This year, at least in our area, the trees are really stressed and we even have a few places where the ground is littered with leaves. Some very pretty too.

Exactly. They got like 11" of rain in a couple of hours. Yeah, massive flooding. Near Madison, a man got swept away and drowned.

It has stormed all morning here. Hard to split firewood and let it dry. I may have to cover early this year.

Just make friends with the bees Tim! My wife does that all the time. Picking raspberries there are usually many bees in there. She just talks to them...
