My wife, Lori, uses a few different oils & tinctures I make from the Blue Dream strain (has strong anti-inflammatory properties) to combat pain from fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue, Dupuytren's contracture and mild rheumatoid arthritis.

All of this started after her "gall bladder surgery from hell" in May of 2016. She went in for what was supposed to be a 30 min laparoscopic procedure to remove a stone. Instead 4 hrs later after major invasive surgery she is finally out. Seems a stone had been growing for 20 yrs. Was over 4 inches, the pic they gave us basically shows a rock. The gall bladder had fused to her liver, the stone had worn a hole in the bottom of the gall bladder so bile burned a hole in the area where the stomach joins the small intestine. The docs had never seen anything like it, had a video conference with a couple Boston hospitals during the operation to figure out what to do. They cut out most of the gall bladder, had to leave what was fused to the liver as it was deemed to dangerous to try to remove, left a flap of the gall bladder tissue laying over the hole to the small intestine in the hopes it would adhere and fuse (it did thankfully).
Now for fibro sufferers, major invasive surgery can wreak havoc and in Lori's case did. Hers had been kind of in remission but came back with a vengeance. She had to retire as she has a hard time walking, using her arms and now with the Dupuytrens and the RA has days where her hands don't work too well. Last year she was approved for SS Disability so that has helped.

Now after the surgery she just could not sleep for very long due to the pain, a lot of times just laying there crying. I work with mostly millennials who all use pot. Now one told me how he makes tincture for his friend with MS as it's the only thing that lets him function and also helps him to sleep.
So I bought some of the Blue Dream from him, also bought a Nova decarb'er and a Magicial Butter Machine which infuses the weed with what ever you use as the base. I make 3 different ones- a non-decarb'd MCT oil based, a decarb'd MCT oil based and a decarb'd Everclear 190 proof grain alcohol tincture. The non-decarb'd oil still has some THC but more CBD so it works on the pain while not making her high. The decarb'd oil is for days where she has more pain. It has more active THC (decarbing also releases more CBD as well) so she feels like she had a couple drinks but the effect lasts for 6-8 hrs. It's a mild euphoric feeling, she can function just helps with the pain control more. The Everclear based one taken 45 min before bed makes one feel a bit woozy (the effect of the 190 Everclear) so she falls asleep and the THC/CBD helps keep her asleep for 7-9 hrs. She takes a tablespoon full with a splash of juice (190 Everclear is nasty but it is the best bonding agent for cannabis tinctures). I also use it as I have chronic pain from nerve damage from a back injury and surgery 14 yrs ago along with arthritis in my hands and knees.

We both got our NH Cannabis cards last year, have bought some from the Temescal Wellness dispensary in Dover but their prices are very high (pardon the pun). $360/oz there for a similar strain vs $200/oz that I pay from my friend. We have tried some hemp based CBD oils but while somewhat effective are very expensive for higher concentrated ones (Charlotte's Web is the best but is $275 for a 4oz bottle). Lori has found that a couple drops of the hemp CBD oil along with the cannabis oil works as the hemp CBD has some slightly different properties not in the cannabis. Hemp oil is expensive as it's growth is heavily regulated by the feds.

My point in this long post is I experience first hand the medical properties of cannabis every day and encourage anyone with pain issues, cancers, to investigate how it may help. Cannabis effects everyone differently (the dose Lori takes at night of the Everclear based tincture has me flying for 8 hrs, I tried it on a Sat once just to test it, she says it just puts her to sleep and she doesn't get the high that I do from that same dosage) so one does need to do reasearch. And there is a wealth of info available on the web.

I have seen at least one show where there was standing room only in the grass - I don't remember what show it was though (maybe Journey, Styx and REO?). However, that was several years ago (at least 5), so I don't know if they have made further expansions.

True, but I wasnt there. Very few shows anywhere are ever sold out to the point of zero tickets available without buying scalper tickets.

I did go to one Zac Brown show there (not completely sold out) just to check out the hype and came away with a "meh". Not a bad show just not my cup o tea. Hell, they did some covers that I know very well (including Zeppelins Kashmir), but barely recognized the song by their version of it.

Journey, Styx and REO was a great show !! I think that was back before the latest expansions there.

Ive been to quite a few heavily sold shows there but there is generally some tickets available, just not great seats. If we are not in good seats, we dont bother going-just too expensive now

First show I saw at Meadowbrook was Sammy Hagar. Back then, the stage was uncovered and it was all dirt with folding chairs or standing room only. That place has come a long way since then and is now a mini Great Woods
