Just got my email from CTPellet about their early spring buy. Just sharing so can compare different area's. Not listed but usually available are the La Crete's. Gonna have to try the Maine Choice as thats about all I can afford if the box stores don't have a decent selection come fall.

I know I am in the minority here but if it were me I would buy 4 tons of the Maines Choice and call it a day. That is a great price around here for any non box pellet. Ashy but hot was my experience.

Maine Choice is available mostly at Lowes, and at time at HD in this area. HD price is $4.18 a bag.

I have not seen them in my area for maybe two years. They used to be found at Lowes. I am hoping to run into some.

I've never had any luck with them. Haven't tried them in a couple of years, though. A clerk in the Augusta Lowes told me it was their best seller. Not surprising, though when usually the only other pellet they sell is the over-priced Greene Team.

A bud from another forum has had excellent luck with them. He said there hot as heck and the ash was no worse than MWP/Green Supreme's he was burning. They were all he could find due to the shortage, but his Omega seemed to like them. If I can't find something at the box store price. I'll get a ton from CT and see how they go. I know see'll eat them, Just worry about the carbon build up. My last experiance was they had a lot that stuck to the burn pot liner. But at this point, Im not gonna get to picky!

How was your experiance with the carbon build up?

Lowes had them last season. This season it was all Green Supreme's and lots of them. Have you tried them in you harmy yet?

I haven't tried them yet. From what I am hearing, they are not better than any of the others I have been able to get, so I'm going straight for the best overall buy. My Harman seems to burn about anything and keep us warm. But to be very honest, I have not tried any of the brands that are getting negative comments. Hd has kept me well supplied with pellets. I have no complaint about the price or quality of what I have been burning.

I don't believe I had any carbon build up issues. I may have had a bit of a dirty window IIRC.

I tried 15 bags of mc about a month ago. VERY ashy. Most ash I have ever gotten from a pellet. No clinkers though like I had from a"super premium" pellet I spent more money on this year.
