Yea it is more like a challenge! Lots of noodles! Lots of wood! Lots of BTU's, and a great workout. A little bit each day and before you know you are done. Work safe!
When they get that big not a lot of people are up for the challenge of dealing with it. It will produce a lot of firewood though.
42 & 46" rounds we have delt with. When they get that big, I set them on the foot of the splitter with the tractor, split it and then used maul to finish other side. It's a workout, but make a big pile. We had 7 rounds like the one in the first picture, had a little over 3/4 cord, 7 rows on our 16ft trailer from them.
Chipping away at it. Like JCMC said it's a challenge. Homeowner turned me on to a friend that has some more manageable downed trees in the 18-24" range.
We don't often get big logs but I have considered using log tongs like you do and using the tractor to move them.
