My local Stihl dealer sells "3 chains for the price of 2." This means I just picked up 3 chain of 36RSC66 (3/8ths x 0.063 x 66dl, for 18" bar) for $50 OTD. That's $16.67 ' loop including tax. Can't beat that with a stick! Especially, considering 3/8th x 0.063 is a special order for Stihl.

My Stihl dealer does the same thing about twice a year. When I need chains I’ll ask when’s the next 3 for the price of 2 and he has always said times close enough and gives me the deal.

My dealer is a dollar an inch. Those chains would have been $18 there. I was at a dealer out of state and they had a 2 for the price of 3 deal. I was used to the $1 and inch. I think they were $28 for a 16'' chain. I was shocked at the price when the guy rang it up. I should have to them to keep them.

Wish my Stihl dealer had deals like that. I guess I have never asked. I will look into it for sure.

My local dealer is way over priced on chains. I have enough chains for awhile, but when I do need more I will get them from madsens or chainsaws direct. They both have great low prices.

Last time I bought chains at one of the local Stihl dealers (its been a while) it was 2 for the price of one...I just assumed that the first one was full price then some...still a good deal.
