Man, You have no idea how true that is. I used to live closer to NH. Like, a stone's throw from the southwest corner closer, but then I had to move way away in the wrong direction.
Haha sounds like the buddy thinks a cord is the wood bundle wrapped with some cord... play it on him.....ac’cord’ingly...
My daughter once asked for firewood for camping. Of course I would give her some, so she showed up with her Ford Escort and said that a half a cord would do. I laughed, and pointed at a 1 cord stack, and asked her where she was going to put half of that?! We got a good laugh. In all fairness, she hasn't ever lived a wood-burning life.
Hahaha!!! That’s a classic story that I feel is going to happen sometime in my life with my daughter!!
I hated the thought when I offered my friend wood for her party fire, that all I had was primo hardwood. A waste in an out door pit fire, I usually have pine or some other s/s wood that would be fine for this. What would I give her? Not my Oak or Hickory, Certainly not my hard Maple, I have some White Birch, but it's all spread through the stack. That left soft Maple or Elm (very hard, btu's). Then I remembered, I have some Boxelder!!!!!!! So Boxelder it will be! My stove wood lives for intended purpose a few months from now.
A friend in need... giving away up to an cord wouldnt be a problem - incase those so and so's are just to lazy to cut and chop ill just forward them to one of my buddies who's selling cut and split wood for a reasonable price.
if my friends want any wood they have to come up to the pond, and help me cut and haul it 2 fields away that will put most off,the corn has been cut so i must go and get a load out befor the fields get worked over, its a small window to go and get it.
This happens to me as well. I don't mind selling them split Pine but thats it...No hardwoods for outdoor party's or camp fires..
BIL stopped by today to BS and check out the new toy.. err equipment. He needed some campfire wood, so I gave him some of the box elder we have. It's all good, as he has helped me cut a bunch, and is always willing to bring his saw up and scrounge through the woods. Told him I'll be taking down some pines, so he's welcome to whatever he cuts with me. He is one of the few that I'd loan my splitter, saw, tools to without worry.
