Yep, quite an investment, then you have to have somewhere to store the raw material at a specific moisture range till it's pelletized.

I looked at the equipment many years ago when we lived in the city, but it was completely unfeasible.

The upside, very little waste, the downside was the capital investment required, as well as storage requirements.

I'll stick with what we've got going.

Hi FatBoy85 I havent been around much lately so just noticed your thread now. Sorry to hear your offer didnt get accepted but it sounds like you have a good attitude about it. Ive had some folks that I know that have been thankful that their offer on a house didnt go through as the right one might be coming on the market soon!

Most Pellet Stoves operate with either a 3" or 4" exhaust, at least the newer ones do. That particular chimney picture showed that she had an Air Cooed style pipe, great pipe, but not manufactured any more, at least that is compatible with that one. You probably couldn't have used it with a wood stove, unless you replaced all the pipe$$ unless she was using larger pipe.

Hey Sean good to hear from you! Yes I have to admit that this buying go around for houses has upped the criticism as far as being picky about the house. Since problem after problem came up with mine before, fixed those, I’m ready for the kind of house that will allow it to be a cleaner slate on that pretense and easier if possible. The lady says “if we don’t get it it isn’t for us”. To put this all positively I’m doing my best to stay patient. The right house is there but we haven’t yet found it. Soon though! Ask a couple questions here and get more support than one would think they’d get. I appreciate the time people take to just say their thoughts here and it goes without me saying that!
