This morning was the first sub 30°F morning that the stove wasn't chuggin to get the house back up to temp. Didn't seem to use any more pellets than usual, but certainly got the temp up quicker than the stove chows. I'm liking these very much. I didn't clean the stove, but the AWF are leaving a white ash compared to the light gray ash the chows were leaving.
Bummer, Went to TSC tonight to score some AWF's and got a shock with only 4 bags left on the skid. I knew I shoulda grabbed the 25 when I first spotted them!! Asked if they had more of them and the lady said out by the front door. She'd have a kid bring more in. I was going to get 1/2 a ton, But figured I'd see what they brought in before I did. Good thing cause they brought the TSC red bags in. So I bought the 4 and a couple of discounted ripped bags. On my way out I scoped out a few more tons in the stacks. But the guy in the yard said they would only fetch those if I bought a whole ton. Otherwise stop back in from time to time and they might have them loose in the store. No room for a full ton just yet, So I might have to head off to HD for some more chow? It warmed up, So I'll stash the 4 bags for now and just burn some chow. I'll revisit them once it gets cold again.
Jay...just do what I did and treat yourself...you deserve it, well at least that's what I told myself!
Picked up 4 bags of TSC pellets today. Per the UPC code, they're Appalachian Wood pellets. Anyone burned these? Paid 3.99 a bag. I don't need pellets, but might get a few more bags if they're decent.
As Slvrblkk mention, they are also know as "Chit" River. Do I need to say more? My local Lowes had tons of these about a week ago, and I walked right by.
Will picked some up at TSC the other week, I think he said they burned ok... I was at Lowes yesterday and they had Nations Choice.....needless to say I walked right past those too.
Ok. Cheat rivers were ok in my stove. I might get a ton for shoulder season. I'm down to two tons...starting to get the "low pellet level shakes". Gotta stock back up. Not only that, but part of me wants to buy them to thank TSC for having pellets in April. Lowes has been out for months, and Rural king has had nothing but Easy Heats all year. Good thing I pigged out on Somersets when Lowes had them. No stove shops in the area, so gotta go the big box route.
They are Cheat rivers no issues with this batch , they are not my most favorite brand ,{ I had and bad batch last year} a bag in the hopper right now keeping the house nice and toasty . At $ 4.00 / bag good price I think I paid $ 4 .85 and could only get 10 bags with the shortage going on .
