Nice pond project! Is it fed from the water running down the left side of the gravel path to the lower part of your property?

I noticed at the GTG the water on the side of the path. One of DaveGunter dogs plopped into a small pool that had collected to cool off his undercarriage after chasing the rabbit around.

It's great that you cleaned up that no man's land. Definitely an improvement.

I have not addressed that area just yet, but its on my to do list. Won't take much to ditch that section. It's certainly dryer there though.

When I was digging, I hit the seepage/ spring. It sputters up just a bit, and there's always fresh water in the pond and the over flow is drained into the woods. We got 3" of rain the other day and we didn't have any overflow issues. Since the last picture, there's 5 solar landscape lights around it along with a few fake ducks. Hoping to bring in the real ones!

Duck can bring in all sorts of pond weeds and fish eggs on their feet from other areas. The pond may just develop vegetation on its own. It will be neat to see it change over time.

They are no different than Goats, you have to have them on their backs for hoof trimming yearly anyway, while there, just shear them. No big deal.

(Besides my sheep shearer is 22 years old and kind of cute)!

I have read this. Being only 3.5ft deep or so, it may freeze solid. Maybe not though with being somewhat spring fed?

Freezing will depend on how much water the spring feeds. In your area, I would expect it..
