First off- I have a brand new NC-13 sitting on a pallet, in my garage. It is too small. So, I want something with a 3+ C.F. capacity, for the longer burn time. 10 hr. would be nice, very nice for a non-Cat. So I've been drooling over the Ideal Steel, but I can't swing the cost right now. NC-30- cool. 'Oldspark''s Drolet Austral , liking his reports- a lot! If I could find that deal for his cost, I'd not post this, it would be a done deal. So, for under 1K, what seems to be the best deal on a steel stove? Thanks, JB. BK, what's the plan for another stove? I'm pretty happy with the 30, but not sure how it's going to do in the real wintertime. Will this be a 2nd stove to supplement the BKK? If you're not really in a hurry, get what you want. Class A......Selkirk Supervent is decent stuff, and the least expensive place that I've found is Menard's. You may not have that in Co., but you can order online.
Just seems like the time of year for the good deals to start appearing. This is a second stove for the "bonus room", probably get used 3 months out of the year. Due to work and the roads, I can be out of the house for 10-14 hrs.

BBar, looks like the True North is only 1.9 CF, I'd not be gaining anything over my NC-13. Looking for 3+ CF in a non-cat, or a Princess. Just being cheap right now, best bang for the buck kinda thing. Thanks, papadave. I think I got spoiled a bit when that NSW deal was offered a few years ago. We got 3 NC-30's delivered for about $670 a pop, and my NC-13 was about $ 470. I should've got a 30 at that time, instead of the 13. Hindsight, so it goes. JB
Are you limited to new stoves or are you willing to buy used? That NC-13 may be good trade bait for someone in your area looking to downsize a stove. Edit- still a good deal on PapaDave's Englander...
