    Had so much rain the past week or so, the ground is waterlogged. Power pole near me actually fell over from soaked ground & weight of wires & vines pulling on it.....power was out when I got up. Affected about 10 houses and well pump. Power co. just left after getting well house back on.

    Record this summer, pellet stove was turned off for over a month. We lit it this morning, :hair: felt like fall this morning.

    Funny story just happened at lunch today....boss took us out to a Puerto Rican restaurant. The place was nice and air conditioned. So we sit down at a booth and as we're sitting there we're like "where's that heat coming from?" They apparently never turned their baseboard heat off for the summer :rofl: :lol: The one lady working there, who didn't speak a lot of English was pizzed.

    Scored a great deal last weekend ...

    Picked up a complete GLOBALSTAR GSP-1600 sat phone for $75... these are still listed online for $1000 (Complete kit)

    This is gonna make life far less tedious in hunting camp this fall.

    Last year camp had a bit of signal, and another fella camped close by had a cell booster in his rig that helped...at least in camp..

    Elk camp was just a bummer as there was no cell signal at all...

    Two of the crew are diabetics, and 70 plus YO

    I'm 66 now and any of us could need ya know.

    Having the sat phone really makes me feel far better.

    Just a clear shot at the sky and its off to the races...

    I can get a usage plan for $40 a month
    which is pretty reasonable for peace of mind...

    Got almost 3" of rain since Sunday. I was surprised to see on the local news last night that my area of the state is still termed as being in a moderate drought. Other areas are down to "abnormally dry".

    Still, doing so much better than those states that have wildfires going, or on the other spectrum, floods.
