I was not sure where to put this one but for several nights in a row I've seen some hellacious flooding down there, esp around Harrisburg. Hope you guy's are high & dry. I know Bear is near the bulls eye. They said that around Hburg they've gotten 12" so far in July.
We are kinda high(elevation wise lol)...but not dry. Since last saturday...we got 9 3/4"s of rain n its not done yet. We live in Adams County so we are south of Harrisburg (about 35 miles). After tonite....rain chances are suppose to slow...we will see.
We've had about 5 and a half where I'm at (about 15 miles south of State College). That's more than enough for me. I was down around Harrisburg today. The river sure is high.
Northeast PA here. about 8 inches of rain roughly, and haven't been able to get anything done outside. Yesterday was spent on my friends farm trying to harvest anything that was ready to save it from getting flooded. He farms 17 acres of river bottom, it floods out at 16 feet. NWS is predicting a river crest of 18 feet this afternoon.
I'm right on the PenNY line near Erie. Been really dry till 10 days ago. We've had about 2 1/2" in that time. Slow enough that most has soaked in. Some areas east of here have seen a lot more.
I'm glad we have elevation here....little water in our stand up crawl space that ran into sump pump....dehumidifier was able to keep up pretty good( humidity never got above 53%). Sun is shining...little breeze....upper 80's today. From saturday to yesterday...never got past 71*. Wife had to make 2 detours coming home last afternoon....roads flooded out about 3 miles away at the foot of the mountain. All is well..
Our son will be going home in a couple days and he is not looking forward to it. His son says he hasn't even been able to mow grass and there is water in the basement. It is amazing to us how much rain they get out there.
What helped us....we didn't get all that rain at once!....if we did like down south n the coast gets from time to time...we'd be in a heap of trouble!!!
Hi neighbor and fellow AC resident! Southern portion of the county got hit pretty good yesterday... several high water rescues. I got home before it got bad, but I guess the SW portion of the county got hit pretty hard. Don't have a total for rainfall at our house, but I'm glad we're on the side of a hill instead of at the base! Hope tomorrow doesn't bring too much.
More concerned with wind n maybe hail tomorrow as it seems a descent cold front comin thru. Its nice seein the sun.....
We lucked out. When all this rain was happening it seemed like we were in a dry pocket almost daily. It was to our east and west. We got very little here. Forest county.
13” this week, and we get all of PA’s and northern MD’s water any day now... but we live in the swamp, so some water doesnt bother us.. crop looks great now
I hear ya... potentially strong storms and rain tomorrow PM... just in time for the drive home. Weeee!
Getting dumped on again, but will be stopping in the early morning hours. Have big plans to split about two cords tomorrow morning.
