That was a 94 GMC s15 pickup we paid $400 and it sounded great when we bought it. I did an oil change and coolant flush on it because it sat for a while. It died when the weather turned cold... One morning I went to warm it up and it had had enough of life. I turned the key and the motor grenaded itself and oil went everywhere. It blew a hole right through the block.

That was a truck I’d have kept for all it’s rust and age it fired every time no problem for those two months. That was a record

That sounds interesting, I like 2nd Gen S-series.

That ranger has a few feet of frame missing in the middle, starting by the front leaf spring mount....definitely can't be drove at all. Bumper is hanging off on one side. And who knows how long she's been sitting, brake lines and other lines ate probably more or less nonexistent.....

Let’s see if I can remember aside from the k15

    1979 Sierra grande $500
    275,000 miles on a 350
no floorboards or bed floor. Screwed deck lumber over the bed and sheet metal on the floorboards in that order.

1985 s10 sport mowed the guys lawn for a summer in exchange 300,000 miles
Had a full size k15 plow on it when I bought it.
Took plow off, spray bombed the rusty cab and glued the back window shut.

    1994 Ranger $500
    375,000 miles
    Oooweeee......... Junk all the way

    96 Ranger can’t remember miles.
I was going to build it into our wood hauler but it ended up getting sold to a member here and then I believe sold again. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either!

    1983 k15 $575
    197,000 on a 305 total turd
    Rusty and not trusty!

    ? Pontiac grand pre
    430,000 miles
It’s a Pontiac so that’s self explanatory junk

A lot of other s10’s that in my opinion are complete piles of junk but they got us through. I’ve owned probably 7 s10 frame vehicles from high school to now. That 2.2L vortec was dang near bullet proof! They almost never went away because of the engine or trans. Except the last one it might have been the only 2.2 to bite the dust on us!

Had a 2001 s10 blazer that we kept for 11 years and it started out nice and left a pile of rust but again It still ran with well over 300,000 miles even after hauling who knows how much firewood.

    Bringing back memories now!

Probably just started the car wars again didn’t I...

    Sweet haha!

I like Pontiacs as far as cars go, ours is pretty solid.....but 430K miles is pretty impressive

I think that was the 3rd rebuild I found papers in the glove box. The real issue with them is the electrical ghosts we seem to always have. Windows going up and down randomly alarms setting off for no reason, locks locking and unlocking by themselves even had the wipers turning on and off. Granted that thing was a very old car...

3rd rebuild, that's a new one to me........

Well, we've had a few Pontiacs in the family and they were all pretty tough. Sadly granddad wrote off his 05 pursuit with only about 55K miles when he blacked out.....

Yeah, him and grandmother and my two cousins were all fine, the car was mangled though. They couldn't find a cause for sure and said it'll probably never happen again.....he doesn't drive much any more though

This'll outdo any truck. A lot more unique in design, too.....

For me, boats and ships are something to admire from land. No desire to be on them much at all. I have enjoyed going on small lakes and streams, but not on anything that has waves.
