If you want to stop for food along the way in Sconnie, I know a few good places around here, north of Milwaukee, but south of Green Bay. Off of I-43. Unless you are going through the LP, then to the UP, then down to GB.

We are leaving Southern Ohio and headed north into Michigan, sight see while we make our way to the big bridge. Then head across the UP and over to Wisconsin, I really like that state, spotted cow beer and cheese curds!
We are going to a wedding in Green Bay on Saturday August 4th, then taking Sunday and Monday to head home going south into Illinois then east through Indiana and then head south toward home. Any food info you can give me is much appreciated. My wife and I are foodies. Thanks again.

I don't think that's a rotax powered Aprilia. I know the 990 v twins like the tuono futura, mille were all rotax, but that looks like a dorsoduro, which is an Aprilia motor, not a the austrian rotax.

I don't know - he posted that on NERiders FB page but didn't provide details on the bike itself (besides the oil leak).

Funny that - there are a couple of guys at work that say "don't poke the bear" (talking about me to other people).

This is why I try to be a courteous rider. Videos of hooligans taking over interstates, stunting and attacking cars, ignoring police...bad publicity. I don't want everyone else on the road to hate me because I ride a sport bike. Plenty of a-holes out there already, I need not add to the total.

When I ride, it's to have a good time and nothing else. I do occasionally give younger kids a pipe shot as I pass if I notice them checking out the bike, but showboating is not my thing. Always brings smiles or laughter from them. My bike is not a status symbol for me. It is a means of escape and joy (with a little terror once in a while also lol).

I think groups will end up pushing some of the riders beyond their skills because they try to keep up, rather than riding their own ride. I ride almost exclusively solo. No one to wait up on, no one to try and keep up with or 'impress'. I've ridden with all sorts of bikes including overgrown scooters, custom baggers, sport bikes, groms, cruisers, supermotos...enjoyed all of it. Believe it or not, most of the aforementioned bikes in one group on a ride. What a sight we were! The scooter ended up going down due to trying to pace with the supermoto on an extremely twisty road. Rider was banged up a bit, but generally ok. Big thanks to this day to the Hannibal Township FD, EMS and Sheriffs deputy for their help. In the end, even with the crash, it was a good ride.

My Triumph had 2 years/unlimited mileage. I think I only put on about 3k those first two years.

The last pic is me on the left. Claus from Germany in the middle. Grandpa #2 Randy on the right. The German feller was sitting outside his room in Lederhosen (sp?) at our stop in Hulett (sp?) Wy. He was riding a '87 Beeeeemer that he shipped over this spring. Riding all over the states and Canada. Neat guy. 75000 on the ODO.

Nearly 100% positive that's an aprilia dorsoduro. That swingarm is unique. The black canister at the front is also aprilia looking.

Just to clarify, last year when a friend and I ran our bikes @ the local dealers open house free dyno day, a 1000cc HD (I don't know the models for chit) poked his way in between us in line. That bike put down a whopping... wait for it...

    42 horsepower.

Yeah. That's not surprising. That's why they are not fast.

On the other end of the harley spectrum, at one dyno day I was at, a very well built, no expense spared Harley with a built S&S engine pulled like 102-104 hp. I think he said he payed like $20k for the engine alone.

I didn't have the heart to tell him my 1000cc vtwin sport bike that put out 120 hp cost me $4500. ;)

Yeah, but how did it sound?

Heck, I'm only packing .675/Liters and specs put the stock engine at 105hp. Someday, I may have enough skill and huevos to use more than half of that! :emb: :D

That guy was probably proud of his bike too. My friend has spent lots of money to make his Harley a fast Harley, yet slower than a slow metric.
He makes fun of me because I don’t hot rod my bike. I tell him that I don’t have time when I’m putting 10K miles a year on my ride. Married life has slowed me down. My best year was 20k

Had to pull out the glove drier after my ride home from work last night. I would have just seen a little rain if I had been able to leave at my normal time (3:30). Instead I had to stay until nearly 6. 3 miles from work I hit hard rain and lightning as I road home (another 27 miles). Total time of trip was 1 hour. My leathers are still soaked this morning. Hoping for some sun, or at least drier weather so I can drape all my clothes out on the chain link fence.
