    Wells Fargo notified us by mail that we finally paid off our mortgage! :D:thumbs::yes::dex:
    38 years of mortgage payments, 4 properties, and finally done!
    Now we just need to put that money into the house so it lasts as long as we do without major issues.
    It feels damm good!

    Well, at least you’ll keep your credit rating up lol. A friend who paid their mortgage off a year ago saw their credit rating fall from 800 to 700 without missing a payment just because he no longer had a mortgage payment. So that’s something to prepare for. Personally I don’t want anymore credit except maybe for another vehicle someday. I can afford to wait for a deal there and I’m not hung up on new. We’ll be paying for house improvements as we can save the money up or they won’t get done. It’s not like the place is falling apart thankfully.

    Congrats Maina ! Ive got a little over a year left on mine. Then, its cram every cent I can into retirement funds. The sooner Im off the hamster wheel, the better.

    Congrats! That's gotta be a great feeling.

    My wife keeps threatening that shes going to make more than me once she gets back to work after a long baby break. Some quick math in my head, and I keep begging her to give it her best shot. I could be 100% debt free with two new cars in about 5 years.

    Our credit rating also is not extremely high simply because we don't have payments. Yet it is high enough so that if we did need to borrow, we would have no trouble doing it.

    Congratulations on the paying off of the mortgages. It is a great thing. Now pay yourself.

    Now that you have it paid for, keep shoving that money for the payment in the bank, it'll add up a lot faster than you think.We did that and still do it, we've had our house paid off for 15 yrs now.
