Like I said, I was spoiled by the 1.69/lb sale back on st paddys day at Market Basket. Guess under 5 bucks for corned beef shouldnt be too bad?

Corned beef goes from $4.99 to $8.99 a lb. Same with just plain brisket.

Time to make notes. I can’t remember half the stuff I go shopping of even if there’s only two things. Gettin' old.

Dont worry about training. Its all good and you get to eat the "mistakes"

Frankly, if it isnt overcooked and well done, there are no mistakes :)

Closest we got was sliced turkey sandwiches. Had to use the slicer again! It’s all good.

Speaking of slicers, are the smaller, cheapo slicers worth a darn? We don't have the space or the need for a large slicer on our countertop.
Some larger cut's of meat, I'm thinking pit beef, are just better almost "shaved" rather than even the sharpest knife (and operator) can achieve. I have contemplated trying an electric knife. A small investment if it doesn't work out.

Small slicers don't have a big enough table for larger cuts....you end up cutting the meat into portions to fit on the table.i had a small like 8 inch one for jerky,I ended up giving it away

I have the Chef's Choice slicer and its great. Just order the smooth blade and it will shave meat.

Really big cuts of meat do have to be cut up, but I can slice some good size roasts on mine. Those pro models are big and expensive.
