Do you folks feel good about the pellet supply this fall to early winter? I am just trying to get a feeling as to what the public thinks/expects....

Nah, I dont think so.....oil prices are still low.
I could see some logistical issues as you have mentioned before.

I'm restocking all summer, and should take over another 2000 sq feet soon as I get the tenant out!

Drove by lignetics plant locally the other day and their yard was stacked full. I've rarely in 20 years seen any outside of the warehouse.
The Chinese slapped a fumigation requirement on all imported logs a few weeks ago. There was a huge log vacuum from China the last 2 years which was taking even low grade pallet logs out of the supply chain here. Some of that supply will be back on the U.S. market which will add to raw material for pellets. The pellet industry is well supplied but other factors will bump price.

I think demand is down due to a lot of people moving away from pellet stoves and going with gas or oil . We should be in good shape :D

I think that trend was short lived, and those pellet stoves will become much more attractive going forward. Crude oil @66 a barrel and HHO at around $2.60 a gallon now and headed up.

Now that I am burning my wood stove half the time I need half the pellets. I actually have all my pellets for the upcoming season.

Dejno?? They make those in Virgin Islands? I wonder if they smell like jerk?

I really have no idea what that means.

It's good for my favorite pellets. Plus, maybe it will help offset some of the subsidies Canadian mills are provided with by their government.

Yes, there will be a shortage. Going to be a cold winter. I asked the weather people.
I also found out that they look to something called the firewood hoarders club?? (Who are they?) to determine how cold it will be.
