Oh boy..., let's see...... Not efficient. Needs to hit many rounds multiple times. Lots of splits need to be split again. Ax blades being grounded. Not with my axe. Off balance at times, almost tripping. Not safe
He sure is expending more energy than I do while pulling the lever on my splitter. The dollar amount of the food he'd have to eat to sustain that would easily pay for my gas.
I didnt caee to watch to the end. Did the Jack Assparagus put an axe through his shin? Almost hope so.
Obviously that wood is easy splitting wood , But I gotta say I'm impressed !! I doubt there are many on here that could duplicate what that guy did. He really does have some good moves! The way he left hands a block that is to his side. Uses both axes on a single larger round . The way he is fairly accurate with either hand. And the sheer amount of HARD work !. All in all I give him pretty much top marks!! He should try his hand at competition chopping. I think he would do very well once he transitioned to the heavier ax.
I bet he spent far more time getting set up with nothing but straight grained rounds all spaced the right distance apart. Yes, he was going fairly fast but the hour plus of choosing nothing but easy splits and then arranging them needs to be taken into account. As others have already said, many of those splits need to be run through again.
The guy's a monster. Swinging two axes and scoring direct hits most of the time? Anyone here able to do that for... a full minute or two? He did it for 7 minutes. I gotta hand it to him, it was a heck of a workout.

My brother splits sorta like that. He cuts down an Ash tree, lines up the rounds on the ground and then splits them all. Then he loads them on his trailer and takes them to his house. He was using a Monster maul, but I showed how great the Fiskars X27 is and he switched.
Gotta give him credit for being a go getter. On the other hand, I cringe at that much franticness. My Dad always told me that deliberation was the best frame of mind when handling edged tools and fire arms!
I'm trying to remember what the shorter handled , lighter version of the X27 is. But, I think that would be a good one to try that with. Would have to buck the rounds to 16" or less. Unless someone was truly a Big dude ! If a guy was big enough and tall enough then the full 36" X27 would work even better and on longer wood.
You have to take it for what it is, a setup For an exhibition to make a YouTube video . That guy has some badass Stamina . My aim is so poor I would probably have cut my foot off trying that
I have the x25 It has a shorter handle but it is the exact same weight ,Works good for me cuz I'm not tall, but I have 2 hydraulic splitters ,so my mauls don't get used that often
