I don't know if Big Brown will deliver IBC totes, so now I'm curiously confused.

We're On a community well. It runs dry (or occasionally a system issue) just often enough to make sure there's some bottled, or collected rain water kicking around. We don't have municipal anything as such, we don't have town council or property tax, but we do have a service district and pay a small fee for trash collection and water and such. There's a few community wells in the area but many folks do have their own well. we did have our own when we lived at the house we're now fixing up, but if we want it when we move back in it'd probably have to be re-done at this point :/

Not sure that I'd be a fan of a community well. Too many variables (usually read.. people) involved for my liking.

Big fan of having our own well, and now a generator as elec backup as well.

I can't say I love it, but it's not that different than being on a municipal supply. Goes out a little more frequently maybe. Where I'm working on a carpentry job in town (municipal supply from a large lake), a water main broke right in front of the building last wednesday, road was closed the whole evening pretty much. The city showed up, but I joked the lake must have dropped 3 feet while they were screwing around. As of yesterday they still haven't fixed the road where it was broke up.

I would like our own well again, but not cheap to do and money don't grow on trees. If it did, people would be a lot more considerate towards nature....

My previous home we were the highest home in Larimer county to have city water, all the houses above us had wells. A retired couple built a 3 story house and mostly used 2 levels. 2 years on a row many wells went dry, we were at a Christmas party where the wife was joking that they had a toilet running for those 2 years and did not notice it, just that the electric bill was higher. Oh if you could see the looks on the other neighbors faces when she said that, they had to haul water that whole time since everyone up there tapped the same aquifer that her toilet was draining.

Unfortunately, I figure there wouldn't be a tree to be found.

People are generally too short-sighted to see the long term gain.

I myself was the same way, never contributed to an IRA, or 401K for retirement until in my mid-late 30',s.

Even a small contribution during my 20's would have grown significantly over the years.

Eh.. the mistakes of my youth are many and varied. :emb:

We made a hail mary move a couple years ago to make up for the not saving enough earlier, reduced our mortgage by $1500/month, could you imagine how quickly that would add up!?! We planned on socking away $20K per year indefinately. But then along came obamacare, health insurance for our family of 3 was $400, now it's $1300 for those two and I am separate at ~ $300. I am so angry that because we are a working class family that pays taxes and happen to make more than the $60K max (where the tax credit eligibility ends here in Wyoming, the $250K max was a blatant bait and switch:mad:) that we have to pay those rates. Highway robbery. I've had to dip into what savings we have almost every month since Jan 2014 and we are tapped out. WWW cannot go without, we'd be destitute if he became ill and could not support us, no way in hell will I risk our kiddo, and, skipping mine is not possible either.

Ouch wildwest that hurts the wallet hard.

Obamacare was flawed from the start.
Once the mandate was added, it gave insurance companies free reign to raise rates, not to lower them.

Only in an alternate reality would companies lower prices on a captive market.

Downsizing often helps, but not if other factors are imposed, then you're back to square one again.

It's quite infuriating when you work and do the right things, then the rules get upended. :headbang::mad::mad:

Good question. I’m not 100% sure, but I would imagine it would be $100/hr. Depending on contractor, size, and experience of operator, etc.

I think, haven’t checked lately, to rent a machine this size is about $250-$300/day. (8 hours of use.) I rented one this size with no cab a little while back for $210/day.

Plus they charge you to bring it to you and back. Ouch. Hopefully one is close by if you want to rent one
