    I was way off. I will probably open mine up someday, but I need to get some tanks through it first.

    I wonder how much the Mtronic carbs are capable of compensating for increased flow?

    Randy ports and muffler mods them , and there supposedly one of his favorites, so I would guess that they can go pretty wild with it.

    The last pic I posted above is of my 441C which is also Mtronic. That one is opened up pretty far, compared to the 362C, or even a stock 441C.

    Aren't you guys concerned at all about modifying your new saws as far as warranty issues are concerned? Aren't you possibly giving up 2 years of warranty by doing even the slightest modification to a new saw? I always wondered about that. I know you guys are good enough that you can probably fix anything that would go wrong yourself anyway, but I'm not sure if I would want to do that.

    I would probably be more along the lines of giving it modest loving use for most of that warranty (beat up one of the other ones till then). Then send it off to Randy.

    I know, I know............ I can already see the answer to this. There is no way you guys are going to wait 2 years cutting with that saw as is, while dreaming of the extra vibrations Randy can send down your spines! :hair: :popcorn:

    I will probably wait the 2 years on this saw since it is the first brand new saw I've ever owned. The saw seems plenty fast right now for the wood I'm cutting. Might as well wait until it feels slow before muffler surgery.

    You can buy a new muffler if something catastrophic happens and throw it on there.

    But who here has actually had something major happen to a stihl in warranty period?? I know someone has just personally never heard of it.

    Dex clutch bearing explosion was a warranty issue but if the saw was modded to the gills that would be a fairly cheap fix if u had to eat it.

    Short answer ...... A lot . They'll adjust to a MM , porting , and I've read where they have compensated for some air leaks that would fry a non M Tronic ,or Auto Tune saw .

    I don't know of this one will go to Randy or not. It runs pretty good the way it is. Probably gonna outfit it with a 16" or 18".

    The 460 will keep the 25" (and 28" if needed, but I doubt it)
    The 441 wears a 20"
    The 036 will wear an 18"
    And the 362 probably a 16" for weight reduction.

    I would have to let someone else repair my saw to take advantage of the warranty. :startled:

    It is a rare occasion that I seek outside assistance with any of my machinery. It does happen from time to time but it is a VERY short list of shops/individuals that I use.

    If something happened to one of my saws that was outside my capabilities, then there is a couple people I know that could hook me up :)

    Right now, I have a guy who is gonna put new bearings and seals in an MS 360 for me ;) Pretty good dude... Or at least I think so :thumbs:

    Never run a new saw that didn't need some help out of the box. A 7900 and 562 are about the best out there. The rest might as well port them before they ever get fueled.

    I have just over 5 tanks through it now :)

    If I don't get my ported 036 Pro back soon , this may become my new favorite saw :thumbs:
