Yup. I got one for free yesterday. Put some saw gas in it when I got home from work. It started in about 4 pulls. Seems like the tank vent must be plugged totally. Runs somewhat then leans out and dies until I open the fuel tank cap. Then starts and runs for a while . If I catch it in time and crack open the gas cap it keeps running.
I have a jonsered CS 2165. I know that's not the same but if the 2050 is anything like mine you'll love it once you get that issue fixed up.
If the tank vent is a hose with a valve in the end - the valve may be closed. Multiple ways to fix: Cut valve off and get a new one. Stick a duckbill valve in the hose. Pull current hose out and put an Echo tank vent in there.
An old timer here asked me if it was ok to throw an old chain saw in the garbage truck. I drive garbage truck. I asked him , what kind of chain saw ? He said an old Jonsred. Then took me into his garage and showed me this saw. He said He had a guy work on it but the guy couldn't fix it. I said ok. I'll take it with me. As I was walking out with it he said , oh wait, I have a bunch of chain that goes with it. And comes back with half a dozen loops of chain. A few have more than half life left in them and the one on the saw looks like it was filed once. It's one of the later mid teck versions from just prior to going to the 2 mass form of anti vibe. I was expecting something like a 52E. It will make a nice small saw once I get it sorted out. I had a 2149 that I cut with for a few years. Very good saw !!
