A few pics of the Grand Tetons: Yellowstone is awesome. The Lodgepole pine is the primary tree in the park. The fascinating fact of the Lodgepole is that some of its cones need the heat of a fire to germinate. Here’s more info Pinus contorta - Wikipedia. We even saw a grizzly bear. More pics
Thanks for the pictures! Good ones too. It's been too long since Judy and I were there. May have to plan a trip soon. You didn't say if you are home yet but if so, welcome home! We really hope the trip was even better than you expected.
Yellowstone is awesome! If you get a chance make it west and check out Quake Lake. Last time we were there we spent a day on each loop of the park. We stopped at small pullout. Said the geyser was 1 1/2 mile hike. We decide to check it out. We were standing there looking at a pretty dry hole. A park ranger walked up and we were talking. Suddenly the geyser erupted. When is was done, she calmly said, "...wow, that has not erupted in 12 years."
My daughter got a great app. On her phone, it knows where your car is and explains the different sites as your drive around. More pics
Did you make the short hike down to the over look at the top of the falls? If you didn't ........go back. It is a humbling experience.
I wanted to go out there in the worst way this summer but 99 put the ky-bosh on it! Oh well, gonna miss her!
99! Son would go with but it would be such a damm fast trip, the engine wouldn't even have a chance to cool off!
