I had a work trip that took me through Aspen CO this week. I made sure to get up before sunrise so I could be at Maroon Bells- and I captured the sun as it came over the mountains. It’s amazing how the view changes as the sun rises. I could have stayed there all day. How about some photos from everybody for places we’ve visited in this beautiful country!
Those are some beautiful pictures! Here are a few pictures from one of our favorite places; Monument Valley, UT. The second picture is also the background on our computer.
That's good stuff. But next time you're out there... Head East towards Independence Pass. About 20 minutes out of Aspen, on the right side (south), look for a NF trail marker for Lincoln Creek. AWD is advised, but worth it. And go up the pass, take pictures, then go back. You'll appreciate the CDOT road crews after that one..
GPS actually took me that way on the way into Aspen from Denver. Exit 195 towards Copper. Mountainside roads, no guard rails, all switchback turns- I was thinking the entire drive down that if you veered off for some reason or lost your brakes, you're dead...and I loved the CDOT signs that warned, "NO VEHICLES OVER 35 FEET. Your vehicle can not navigate the switchback turns. Your vehicle will be damaged. You will get stuck. You will have to be towed. You will be fined." If I get back to Aspen, I'll look for and stop at Lincoln Creek. Thanks for the recommendation! My way back to Denver took me through Glenwood Springs, and I was bummed that I didn't have time to visit the gravesite of the famous gunfighter, Doc Holliday. Hopefully I get another trip out there, I'd like to stop and see it.
Awesome thread! I love this beautiful country! Bryce canyon national park, southern Utah. Amazing place to see The vibrant colors were amazing that day The infamous Angels Landing, at Zion national park. Another amazing place to visit in southern Utah. And from the top of Angels Landing, the view from the top is worth it! Part of the Angels Landing trail, around 1200ish feet down on each side right here. Hales Location golf course, North Conway NH. White Horse Ledge is in the background. My inlaws have a house across the fairway and about 50 yards down from where I took that.
