    Wandering around in the NH woods.
    I’m gonna break with the pack and say white oak... bark seems flaky on some of the pieces and unless your “delicious” comment was sarcastic, I think white oak has a much better smell to it than red.. I would expect red oak to look a lot more red on fresh splits....

    Looks like a piece of hickory In the upper left corner of he first pic....

    This pile has a few different kinds of wood in it. The "oak" though is quite red and the pics don't do it justice. I know I have lots to cut and split that's for sure.

    I hate the smell of freshly cut red oak. Smells like cat pizz. Flies love it too.

    That's definitely red oak.
