I’m gonna break with the pack and say white oak... bark seems flaky on some of the pieces and unless your “delicious” comment was sarcastic, I think white oak has a much better smell to it than red.. I would expect red oak to look a lot more red on fresh splits.... Looks like a piece of hickory In the upper left corner of he first pic....
This pile has a few different kinds of wood in it. The "oak" though is quite red and the pics don't do it justice. I know I have lots to cut and split that's for sure.
I hate the smell of freshly cut red oak. Smells like cat pizz. Flies love it too. That's definitely red oak.
